Samsung Tab A 10.5 vs. IPad 9.7 both are 2018 models

which one of these are the best value. I can get the samsung for 329.00 and the Ipad for 249.00
I am thinking that the Ipad will be better in the long run, what say you?

Ipad unless you are already invested in the Android app ecosystem.

I really like Samsung products but I think in the long run with being able to handle updates and such I should get a good 4-5 years out of this iPad. I already have a iPhone so I know the set up and all

iPad, easily.
The only Samsungs I would consider would be the S4 and new S5e. There are two reasons to consider a Samsung: OLED screen and 16:10 aspect ratio, which is better for video than the iPad's 4:3. I opted for the S4 over the iPads for these reasons.
ETA: The Tab A is not OLED and rather overpriced at $329 IMO.
