Is that even still a thing ? don't own the streamer yet, so weighing some options..
To be real, I'm looking at playing Starfield. X AND PC are in my sons' room now, so I'm limited to PS5 on my screen.
I really, just want to buy another X, but wife would shite a brick
ETA: Alternatively looking for a way to not have to buy the game on another platform too as we get it free on Xbox..
Streaming directly from the PC doesn't work because of the controller distance

Buy a really cheap HTPC and use Steam's in home streaming. Can probably get an old HP mini PC for ~$100 on eBay
$50 if you have an 2.5" SSD or M.2 drive lying around to throw in it

good idea too..
looking at a shield pro too..
eventually, ill be past the price of a new X nad hate that I didn't just go that route, lol
have some little Optiplex 5090s laying around, but I was thinking they wouldn't have the juice to play something..Was not thinking about just linking them and playing on the cloud

I use SteamLink on the iPad or on my Samsung TV every once in a while when I don't feed like removing my laptop from the cabinet (plugged in and hardwired since it's also running my Plex server).
It isn't a perfect system but it works fine.

I actually just hooked this up yesterday. Goal was to get my rom library onto the AppleTV without doing the silly side loading of Provenance that requires re-signing weekly (or $99/year for an Apple Dev account above the basic level). Cable is now all streaming in my house, so I was trying to add games to the one-box-to-rule-them-all. I also am part of a family Apple plan and have Arcade. My 2-year old thinks Angry Birds is one of the funniest things she has ever seen.
Steam Link went up and working immediately. Resolution wasn’t phenomenal. And I gave up working on it because my wife started fussing at me. The controller was not the absolute most intuitive/best thing I’ve ever used. But I spent a grand total of about 5m doing it, and the controller problem was sort of there in the Arcade stuff, too (the ‘home’ button won’t go home. You have to pull up the ‘cards’ and close the app you’re working in or switch to Home Screen, though maybe it’s a ps5 controller or a ‘me’ problem. Some “clicks” did t respond right, and you had to switch to “mouse” mode, and it still wouldn’t register some “enter” commands- it very likely is me not understanding the controller, but I tried lots of buttons and combinations and it didn’t work perfectly, immediately. And I didn’t get a game launched before quitting.
ETA- resolution problem isn’t really a problem. It displays native resolution. I have an ultrawide on my computer and a standard TV, so it’s not the best look. But it’s not the software’s fault. And the controller problem was user error.
