Sooo. I was heading into BR last Thursday for the weekend & I have been getting random text messages from 318, 225 & 985 area codes. About 5 in total.
I got a new phone recently (4 months ago) and some of my numbers didn't transfer over. Which is why I responded to some the way I did.
First one started with, "Hey u gonna be in BR anytime soon?"
I naturally responded with "I have a new phone and don't recognize your number, who's this?"
They then responded with, "sorry I may have the wrong number, is this 'my full name' (first, last)"
things went on for a bit and she said her name was "Michelle". I don't know any Michelle from the 318.
I deleted the text and went about my day.
couple days later I get similar random texts from diff numbers. I delete and carry on.
Then comes the 985 number. which is when things get weird. started very similar but misspelled really badly. long story short. they knew my name, that we "met at a sushi restaurant in Houston (where I reside), friends' names, etc.
and after I told them to F**k Off and get a job. the texts got really "ghetto/ebonic". then they said I know where u live off highland." (where I currently was at the time in BR & where my parents currently live).
the same number texted 3 of my friends with other random ghetto shite.
I had a guy run the number(s) and came back with a dropped pin in New Orleans and the domain was www.bandwith.com
Sorry for the long detail but I felt it pertinent considering how the other thread went.
But my questions are:
1. Has anyone ever heard of this sort of thing??
2. is it possible to "hack" someone's iPhone via text??
3. any insight into www.bandwith.com??
4. how in the hell did they know my full name??
Thanks in advance.
PS: my friends that are not smart or clever enough to pull a prank like this. not to mention they aren't degenerates. at least most of them. and those that are, definitely aren't smart enough for something like this.

If anything is hacked it's more likely your iCloud account than your phone. Change your password and make sure you have 2 Factor Authentication turned on so they need your phone to log in via the web.
