Sold a phone on Swappa

Buyer is not stating the phone is constantly rebooting and battery life is getting worse (posted a picture of 75 % battery health according the AccuBattery).
Phone was in immaculate physical condition when sold. Included several accessories (wall chargers, cables, screen protectors and car chargers).
During my two years of ownership, I never experienced any reboot issues with this phone. Yes, an occasional reboot due to an operating system glitch, but nothing of any sort to say it was constant (I'm talking 1 x every three or four months, at worst).
Is the writing on the wall that the buyer is going to seek a refund?
What more can I do or should I do? I listed everything as accurately as I possibly could.

Yup, more than likely.
Don't think you can do anything else. If they're not happy with the purchase, you can't do anything.

Yep, they can file a dispute with PayPal and you will have to refund their money when you get the item back. They have 180 days to do so. This is the main reason why I only sell local now.

almost 2 months? Doesn't Swappa have some guidelines with this and the window for buyers remorse?

I think Swappa follows PayPal’s policies?
What a great scam. Buy a phone. Use it for 160 days. File a claim. Get money back. Rinse and repeat.

Have you asked the buyer what he wants to do?

Not yet. I purposely have waited to respond.
But his initial email seems to indicate he wants money back.

I would tell him it’s too late, but unfortunately if he files a Paypal dispute, they will side with him and put a hold for the full amount on your PayPal account.

This is what I see:
Returns and Refunds
Sellers are urged to outline return policies for their listing. All return policies must comply with Swappa's site-wide policies.
If an item is received not as described the buyer shall be entitled to a refund.
Sellers should refund promptly for returned items after received.
Swappa will refund sale fees to buyers when a sale is voided due to fault of the seller or Swappa.
If an item is received as advertised, but the buyer wishes to return ("buyer's remorse"), the seller is not obligated to accept a return except in compliance with the stated voluntary return policy. Any refund in "buyer's remorse" situations should be less any fees already incurred by the seller. Swappa sale fees are not refundable in such situations.
Refunds are subject to PayPal's refund policies and limitations.
If an item sold on Swappa becomes blacklisted, through no fault of the buyer, outside of PayPal's refund window the seller is expected to provide a reimbursement for the market value of the device or a comparable replacement device to the buyer.

That policy says “upon receipt.”

That is Swappa’s policy, but unfortunately since the buyer paid through PayPal, they are protected by Paypal’s Policy.

Swappa is ok but i did buy an iphone off of it last year and the screen had a small crack at the bottom and you could not see with case on..
I ended up not using the phone because it had spots like burn ins on it..
I tried to resell on Swappa and they flagged it and took it down because of cracked screen.
I told them I bought it off of swappa and they told me to handle with the seller..
it was really a hassle ended up losing $50 on the deal just to get some of my money back..
Good luck!! I sell a lot on ebay and sometimes i come across crooks that just want to say the item is not as described or lies and it is hard to fight..
Paypal has very bad guidelines for Sellers..

What happens if you receive a device back, in this case, a phone that now has damage and was not damaged prior to original sale? Seems like one big fiasco in the making or the potential to be.

Unfortunately not a whole lot you would be able to do unless you take legal action. PayPal is all for the buyer and it’s a shame. I used to sell a lot on eBay but stopped because of this. Hopefully you have serial/esn numbers of the phone that you sold.

Try trading it in at Best Buy. I got $130 gift card for an iPad that was old as hell and would not fetch $40 on the open market. The inspection process was, “Does it work?”
