I have 100 Mbps internet through suddenlink. My speeds have been fluctuating for a while now, but lately I'm getting very little to no upload speed. I had a tech come out and of course it was working fine while he was at the house (108 download - 12 upload). He said everything was working fine from what he could see, but said it could be my router. Last night it starts again, I'm getting anywhere from zero to 2.00 upload, then after about an hour of that it goes back to normal. I bought a new router and set it up today... and the same thing is happening! Can anyone give me some help.. or tell me what might be causing this to happen?
Thanks in advance.

What time of the day? Is it always during peak hours 6-10pm on weeknights?

No.. it's at different times. But it seems to be mostly late at night. It was doing the same thing last night at midnight.

Did the tech actually check your signal levels on your modem?

He said that he did. I was not there so I couldn't really say yes or no. He seemed pretty straight forward.. he even left a card for me to contact him if I still have problems rather than get back in touch with the call center.

Usually I would say in this case you need to be checking your signal levels. What type of modem are you using?

You can check your own signal levels if you go to 192.168.100.1

Check your upstream bonded channel levels, also check the logs page for errors

I'll do that, thanks.
Should I be looking for anything specific?
Do you think it's a modem issue?

Look for resets in the logs or any bonding issues.

Make sure for upload you have at least two channels bonded.

Make sure your power levels are below 55 on the upstream anything probably means you have a line issue

So you think it's a bad modem?

No more than likely you need a more experienced tech to come to your home. What was your signal levels like?

in most cases upstream must be in the 35-50 dBmv range.

Granted it couldn't hurt to try another modem, but 9/10 it is a bad cable, or too many splitters down the line.

If suddenlink has a decent forum with techs I would try posting your signal levels info on there. In my experience the techs that monitor those places will get you at least to tier 2.
