Samsung TV scrambled snowy picture

I just purchased a Samsung CU8000 and was testing the PC casting function. It was working fine for a few days but tonight it only displayed a scrambled snowy picture. When stopped casting and returned to the menu it looked fine.
When I tried to play any video from any app source or HDMI source the picture went snowy again and once turned green. I unplugged it and plugged it back it and it seemed to resolve the issue and it's casting and playing video fine now. Samsung support could not offer an explanation but recommended resetting the video settings. Anyone experience this issue or know what may have caused it?

But are you talking about the same scrambled-snowy you get from an over the air channel, when not having an antennae attached?

Not exactly but similar. I looked everywhere to try to find a pic online but could not. It was similar to this:
