anytime someone sends a video or pic to me I receive them in very low quality

anyone know a fix?

best I could find online so far is this reddit thread about it LINK. hoping there's an easier way than forcing me or whoever is sending the pics/video to me to use a different method than through text message. this crap, imessage crap, and texts split up crap is making me strongly consider going back to an iphone.

It's a limitation of the MMS standard. You'll have to use a data based messenger (Hangouts, Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, etc.) if you want higher quality media.

And don't blame Google/Android for not being able to use iMessage...blame Apple.

oh I blame apple fully

just sucks there's these little hoops to jump through to communicate between apple and android messaging. I don't mind the hoops, just hate forcing my friends and family with apple to jump through the apple made hoops. they don't understand why they can't just use the regular stock apple messenger when it works fine most of the time. then when it doesn't play nice with android messaging apps they get annoyed and blame android for having to use a different app to communicate with their android friends.

My wife sends me pics and videos (no pics of her you fricking pervs) of our son. The pictures come in great but the videos are so bad in quality, they are almost unwatchable. She has the S6 and I'm still rocking the S4. I can receive a video from my mother or sister who have newer iPhones and the quality is fantastic.
