Router Logs and Hacks Breaches

Tech Guys -
Had something very strange happen with network this morning, randomly disconnect from internet last night. Woke up this morning, went right to router info, trying to figure out what happened.
what I settled on was a change in router time - Logs were showing Dec 31, which was also shown in settings for time.
Saw an NTP server failure on time sync.
checked through logs, but I am not that technical. just want to know that nothing was accessed/hacked.
Anything I should look out for?

You need a pretty serious router before it has an RTC battery. Losing time is no big deal. Prob just a surge or small brownout that didn’t get handled well.

Did you see any evidence of an automatic firmware update occurring? It was fairly common practice for updates to switch time zones to GMT, wipe the clock, etc.
Do you have any remote services (from the Internet) on your router enabled, like remote management?

Appreciate the help fellas.
We did lost power last night as well, I just figured that one out 30 mins ago.
SO that would have been it?

Yeah, but that was where it started to look maybe not normal, but I'm not THAT technical.

I think I have to have. It's on, I know I don't want that but I thought there was some reason why I had to turn it on. Like Mobile access or something, managing it from my phone even in my house.
Remote Access is switched on

It was the power outage. You can put a cheap UPS on your router and modem like this which will keep your router and modem powered for at least a 1/2 hour in case of power outages. I actually swapped out the 425VA unit that used to be on my router and modem to my PC, and put the much larger one (1500VA) on the router. My Internet (assuming the Xfinity stuff in the neighborhood stays up) can be powered for days. The one on my PC just needs to keep everything on for a couple of seconds in case of a power flicker.
If you don't remember why you have remote access enabled, turn it off and see if anything breaks. And you need to change whatever password you used for remote access, but don't do it until you see if anything breaks. If you turn it off and kill something critical, you can just turn it back on while you triage what you need to fix. If you change the password first, it may not let you change the password back to a previously used password, and the cleanup may be more of a pain in the rear.
