I should probably install that

while you can turn it into 'stealth' mode and even install it remotely if your phone was stolen before you put it on, your phone could still be reset by a clever thief.

a better way to go is a custom ROM that has this baked in so even a factory reset wont remove it.

nothing is foolprool but android lost will probably take care of 99.9% of the 'type' who steals phones quite effectively.

So I've run into an issue. Maybe my second time ever rooting but I used to jailbreak a lot but pretty different. I'm using a mac as well so kinda more difficult to find help and I have searched and searched for an answer to this

I'm using TWRP to install roms and can't get anything to load. I wipe everything then try to install the g apps and the rom. It says checking for MD5 files skipping md5 files: no md5 file found. error flashing zip.

I couldn't find help anywhere even XDA, I'm not signed up there though so may have to to ask.

Any help would be great

Are you trying to flash the gapps before the ROM? If so, I would switch it up. Also, make sure you downloaded the Nexus 6 version of the ROM.

Ive tried it both ways. I will make sure I have the correct roms as well. I've tried about 5 roms just to see if I had bad ones or something.

Download this ROM, the GApps, and SuperSU

They're all right there in the post in order. Factory reset phone in twrp, flash rom, flash gapps, flash supersu. Reboot. (the md5 sum isn't needed for any rom all it does is verify the download no one uses one so that no md5 file found is normal) Latest TWRP is 2.8.5.0, use their app on the playstore to update easily/fastest it's called TWRP Manager.

Doesn't work, unroot and reroot your phone as you've screwed something up somewhere.

they're all in the play store now so just grab whatever apps you want.

no need to hunt around for a gapps.zip file anymore.

It does help with storage, if you get what you need in a gapps package rather than play store. Gapps are installed on a partition that will otherwise be unutilized space.

Rastapop installs well but boot loops. Chroma works.
