Hey guys, I hooked up my dad’s Roku streaming stick to his audio receiver so he could easily switch between satellite and media box on the remote

Because the Roku is plugged in Behind the receiver it doesn’t get a very good Wi-Fi signal.

I get 400 down on my phone 5 feet in front of it out in the open but because it’s tucked behind in a cabinet it said it was getting 8 to 10 down when I do a speed test on the Roku.

I just wanted to check to see what if any options I have.

Can you hardwire it to ethernet? If not, you'll have to move it. I had one in the bedroom that had similar issues in a TV cabinet. It was one of the earlier models.

Get a standard Roku, not the stick. The full size gets a better signal and you can sit it on top of the receiver or move it out in front.

Looking back yes we should’ve got the standard one. Oh well I looked it up and just purchased a $5 three foot HDMI extender. I’m pretty sure I can rig it and tape it behind the TV.

That way it will be open air and not be covered. This should at least add some space.
