My son wants a gaming computer so he can play some ninja guy or something and you tube his matches etc. I bought his big high definition screen last year. I have no clue about this so any recommendations appreciated. We have 160-180 mb internet speed via Comcast. ( when it works) He plays fortnight mostly now and has a couple hundred wins

The game will run on a potato - i know because its what im running it on - but in order to record/stream it takes significantly more power. Blue gave you a couple of good options for a build your own. Buying a gaming computer off a shelf is hot garbage - the manufactures prey on the ignorance of consumers - and so getting a solid machine at a good price is damn near impossible.
If you absolutely want to buy it fully built I'd suggest letting someone walk you through building a custom machine on ibuypower or a similar website - or - go to your local computer shop and have a talk with them.

From what I understand it's pretty simple to build a computer.

Amd Vs Intel?
They preform relatively similarly. Intel has better single thread performance, but AMD has all the cores

IF the application uses 4 or fewer cores = buy intel
IF the application uses 6 or more cores = buy amd
thats from a price to performance perspective. intel top end chips will always top amd chips from an absolute performance perspective. sometimes you pay a SIGNIFICANT price for said performance though.
