As the title states, I'm looking for a simple to setup, easy to use printer that talks well with apple devices. Seems like we are going through several that always struggle to communicate or aren't reliable. Thanks

Brother is the correct answer...while i work mainly from laptop, wife is almost always on phone or ipad and prints to it all the time...just need a network printer

I would agree if you’re buying an inkjet printer. I would not advise buying an inkjet printer though.

Get a laser printer.

I have a HP Laser printer. It has worked flawlessly for the better part of 2 years. Works well wirelessly. iPhone just prints straight to it without any issue. No setup required.

We've had an HP Envy 4520 for a few years and it's been reliable and easy on the ink.

We print to it from iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Android tablets, Chrome OS devices, Windows and Linux PC's.
