Receiver or HDMI Issue?

Hey guys,
So I've noticed that the signal from my Cox Contour box cuts in and out when i turn it on (audio and video) for about 10-15mins and then seems to be fine. When looking at my receiver while this happens (Denon AVR-X4100W), I see the speakers icon flashing in and out as well as the dolby icon. Nothing seems to be flashing on the Cox Contour box.
So, anyone experience this? It's not happening when any other devices are being used (apple tv, dvd, etc), so its either:
1. bad HDMI cable
2. issue with Contour Box
3. issue with receiver
All of my equipment is in a different room than the TV, but luckily when the house was built they ran 2 HDMI cables. I may connect the other HDMI cable and see if that solves it, just curious if anyone else experienced this.
Thanks!

Sounds like the receiver is struggling to figure out what audio format the box is outputting. Id check the audio output settings on the Cox box and the input settings on the AVR.

Sounds like the receiver is doing what it's supposed to do, but the signal coming into it is iffy. So that takes the suspected components down to 2.
It's cheap and easy enough to swap out the cable to determine if that's the problem.
