The left side of the screen on my 42" Vizio is starting to go dark and getting progressively worse. Is it dying a slow death or can it be fixed?

You can get a 55" TV for $300 right now and you want to try to fix that?

Do they make TV’s with screens that aren’t flat anymore?

Yes, there are some Samsung (maybe others) that have a curved inward screen.

The LED bulbs are going out. You can probably buy a replacement set for $40 and change them out yourself.

Is this one of those, “tell me you’re 85 without telling me you’re 85" posts?
First, the only TVs available today are flat screen TVs. They don’t even make CRT TVs any more.
Second, who uses a 42" screen TV? Didn't those go out about 15 years ago?
Third, unless the TV is still on under warranty, no one gets a TV fixed nowadays. When was the last time you saw a TV repair shop? As late as the 70's, 80's, and 90's, you could pretty much count on seeing a TV repair shop about every mile on every major urban Main Street stretch. I can’t even tell you the last time I saw TV repair shop. I’ve got to imagine that the only places doing TV repairs are those that do warranty work.
