Purchasing new TV

Hope right TD board
LG - 77" Class CX Series OLED 4K UHD Smart webOS TV
Primarily gaming display but whole lot of TV/Movie watching, too
Consumer Reports is high on this one as are expert ratings (Bestbuy.com). Invite any opinions and thoughts, as TV tech is not my strength so much appreciated!

I opted for its cousin — the 77” Sony A80J OLED from Best Buy $3495. Amazing TV picture and sound. But I have a dedicated sound system so that is a moot point really.
The new XR processor outperforms the LG even though the panels are the same. And lot of extras built in. This A80J is being hailed as the top TV of the year.
Only go with the LG if you’re a hard core gamer. For TV and movies, the Sony is a slam dunk.

LG CX model is 2020. Sony A80J is 2021.

My LG is a lower end model but has WebOs and I’ve enjoyed that so far.
