Printer Firmware Rollback

Stupid me updated my firmware on my Samsung laser printer, and now it won't let me you non-Samsung toner. It tells me it is not compatible, even though it worked before updating the firmware. Is there any way to roll back the firmware, or any other suggestions? Model CLX-6260FD.

See if you can do a system restore...back to a point before you updated firmware. System restore may have already made a restore point before you upgraded the firmware.

See if you can download the old version and if reverting firmware is supported. If not, then sorry, but:
Seriously, this is the sort of thing google is for. Search for /CLX-6260FD firmware download/ and at least a couple versions turn up.

I did a google search and found the firmware. When I try to install it, I get a message saying that it is already up to date. I'm looking for a hack to force the old firmware back onto the printer. Didn't know if anyone had any experience doing this.

Factory reset..? If so, it would take off the newer firmware..

I haven't found instructions for doing a factory reset. I found where the battery where the battery is, so I may try pulling the batter an leave it unplugged for a little while.

Also try adding "forum" to your google search. They did away with the "Discussions" feature a few months ago, which would return primarily forum posts, but adding "forum" as a search term helps find threads on a given subject.

I've fixed things recently based on Amazon reviews...

Dude, if you have no idea what the frick you're talking about, don't give advice on the tech board. There is absolutely nothing about a system restore on his windows pc that would remotely have anything to do with the firmware on his printer. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada. GooseEgg. Stop giving tech advice. You're not capable. Got it?
To the OP: there is no rolling back printer firmware.

I confess I have bricked a printer before. HP of course. No do overs.
brick = paperweight or curb side pick up.

He didn't brick his printer. He just doesn't like that the new firmware enforces Samsung branding on toner cartridges. Some devices will let you roll back, but many won't, and the ones that do may not strictly support it. The whole situation kinda sucks, which is why it's a good idea to have a healthy fear of firmware updates.
