I posted this on the gaming board too. You can ignore the WoW jargon but basically I have FPS lag in game. Even out of the game when I type things into say chrome or something the input is very laggy. TIA

Hey, maybe this should go on the Tech board but my issues are related to chugging and FPS stutters.

Last night during raid the power went out. When it came back on we only had a few more pulls on the boss before raid time ended so I didn't notice any issues.

However, my bnet launcher was reset and to get back into WoW I had to relocate the folder on order to launch. What I didnt notice was that my FPS are now capped at 60. I checked wow settings and everything is fine.

However, when I go to my display settings 144hz is no longer an option. Only 59 or 60. I tried going into my nvidia control panel and it says its not available with my drivers.

I updated my nvidia drivers through GE force experience to the drivers that released today. Still the same error message.

In WoW if I go to Orgrimmar (in b4 stormwind is fine, roll alliance) my frames will not go above 25-40 and and things like NPCs and the portals do not load.

What settings could a power outage cause to change?

I checked the display settings and it still shows me connected via display port. Could my card be fried? If it was damaged, would I get any picture at all.

My system still shows 16 gb of ram, so I dont think that one of my ram sticks got fried.

Core temp still shows I'm running at about 50 degrees Celsius so that doesn't seem like an issues either.

I tried to do a system restore and I received an error message and my PC shut down.

Any ideas?

I would bet it's related to drivers... the restore should do the trick if you can get that to work. Maybe completely uninstall the device and reinstall it with new drivers if that doesn't get it going.

Thanks for the advice. I tried a windows restart and so now I am in the process of getting everything set up again and installing all my programs.

I will let you know if it works once my drivers are installed.

So I eneded up resetting windows with a clean install that did not help. However, after the fresh windows install, when i updated the drivers it fixed the problem.

Updating the drivers didn't help before the Windows restart, so I'm still not quite sure what caused it. Basically the outage corrupted my windows 10 profile and after a fresh install of windows, when i updated the gfx drivers were good to go.

Thanks for the help!
