I recently put in an under deck roof at the house. To say the area underneath is dry is probably an overstatement.

We are looking to mount a TV on an exterior wall to watch football games and such. It doesn't need to be waterproof, but it does need to protect it from the elements while still being able to watch.

Any ideas?

Wait do you want a mount or enclosure? I have a ceiling mount on my patio and just put a tv cover on the tv when Im not using it.

Even to add to this question. What TV brand/model would anyone suggest for outside under a deck.

Thinking about doing this also. Maybe something in the 32inch - 40inch range for my outdoor deck. In New Orleans as well so humidity and heat and all...

i leave my tv on. My theory is with the humidity, the condensation gets on the circuitry in the TV and rusts out parts of the board, which is why outside TVs dont last.

i leave mine on and keep it hot so condensation doesnt accumulate inside the tv.

i usually turn it to mute and leave it on the weather channel. but i also just leave the a netflix show on pause and after an hour or so the amazon fire tv screen saver shuts off and just goes to a black screen. I think the first is better since the screen stays hot but it is shining light in your back yard.

Yeah I like that theory. I might just leave the chromecast on but still put the tv cover. Best of both

I'm thinking a wall mount enclosure. My area is small and covered under my deck (10' x 11'). When it rains and the wind blows, everything underneath there will get damp at least if not full on wet. I figured on mounting a 50-55" LCD under there. Just something cheap to watch games on.

I can't recommend any enclosures. I say buy a cheap tv and use a cover. This is what I use

If this is the case I would just make it so it's easy to remove and store it inside or spend the $ on an outdoor rated TV

Yeah hopefully he's exaggerating. Otherwise, you're right. No point in keeping it outside.

Best Buy's Insignia is the go to brand for outside if you're on a decent budget.

48" LED smart TV for $350.00.

It's been a while since I looked but I priced these out once and they were ridiculously expensive.

I guess you could build your own watertight enclosure with a flip up lid to view the screen. When you're done close the lid... kind of like those security boxes for TVs outside at restaurants. The only problem is making it completely waterproof.
