cant believe someone hasnt crushed this market already with these bozos running things.

Nest is one of the problems. Keeps buying out the startups that are creating good products. CES 2015 had some news about "Talks To Nest" or something. Ah well.

Which schlage do you have? Costco has the touchscreen and lever combo for $299.

schlage customer service also rocks.

I grabbed mine on ebay. Just the deadbolt touchscreen for $130. I think Costco actually has them on sale right now...or they did a week ago. I haven't hooked mine into any automation yet, but like CAD said, it's awesome without that.

Just installed my Hub last night. It was a pain to get the thing connected though.

Now that I'm finally connected, I cannot get my touchscreen lock to pair. When I try to add it through the app, the app tries to get me to reinstall the hub. (it won't give me a next button to proceed with pairing) Pairing the lock alone does not get it connected as I assume the hub has to be pairing at the same time.

I'll give Wink a call today and put their customer service to the test.

Turns out although Link hub works on the Wink app, it does not work with all Wink devices. Could they be any more confusing?

I'll be returning my Link starter kit to Home Depot and bought a Wink hub for $40 on Amazon.

that lock is the fricking bomb.

you cant get it to connect to wink?

its got so many damn features..its like an alarm-system all in one.

if wink ever gets off their arse and supports all the zwave commands that lock is capable of, you would be amazed.

so even with teh schlage in 'pairing mode' the wink doesnt see it?

is the wink solid blue prior to starting?

is the wink far enough away from your router its not causing interference?

I purchased the LINK hub by accident at Home Depot because it came with two lights. Even though the LINK hub works with the WINK app, it does not work with the Schlage lock. I need a WINK hub to work with the WINK app so that it can talk to the Schlage lock.

I'm happy with it so far. If I can just get it to work, I'm going to upgrade the other outside doors as well.

Finally got my WINK hub installed, updated and the schalge lock installed. Unfortunate that all I can do is lock and unlock the door, but it's a start.

I have a 17 year old disabled son and am at the point where I need to automate thermostat, garage door, front door, bedroom door, lights and a ceiling fan. I just saw this thread and am begining a DIY project and figured this WeMo by Belkin would be the way to go. I believe I saw this hub that controls 24Vdc. Figured I could add some solenoids to an arm and open and close the doors.

Just a thought. any websites or additional resources would be awesome.

I have a love/hate relationship with with WINK.

LOVE
- the hardware is solid. great product with every wifi radio built in you could want (wifi, bluetooth, zwave, zigbee, etc.)
- super simple app to build and control devices and create robot 'scripts' to automate multiple things at once.
- tons of marketing behind it..GE, Home Depot & Quirky are 100% committed to the platform.

HATE
- shitty implementation of almost every device. for instance the schlage lock has a library of maybe 30 different API calls (not just lock/unlock) that are useless without some type of brain like WINK or SMARTTHINGS or REVOLV, etc. While you can do 99% of those things directly using the schlage keypad, the point of having a brain is to enable those features via smart phone.
- they broke functionality without explanation and in the app claim that feature isnt supported (when it damn well was)
- very nice customer service folks but most calls are simply 'reset everything and start over' which is maddening.
- shitty 'cloud only' implementation (unless you hack your WINK hub) which means anytime the internet is down, so is every connected device in your house even if your WiFi is still running.

so my whole system is in shambles due to the move so i cant really speak to whether the app is any better now, but i hate how poorly this has been implemented and the 99 cents i paid for the hub is starting to seem expensive due to an endless litany of issues.

i have 2 hubs; one hacked and limited usefulness since WINK is actively ignoring/refusing to allow it to pair devices if it determines its rooted

The cooper smart dimmers actually work great. I was hesitant on which dimmer to get. Lot's of lousy reviews with the others. Glad I went with the cooper.
