also, looking at this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Everspring-AN145-Z-Wave-Wireless-Screw-In-On-Off-Module-/291678694007?hash=item43e967aa77:g:73QAAMXQyfFSA7Fe
over a zwave bulb to MESH across to the intermatic.
this would screw into a post light that's about 1/2 way between my wink hub and the pool pump electrical.
i figure this will work as a repeater and i'm not stuck with a particular type of bulb should i want to put a higher wattage or different color in.

So, do you think it will work with wink?
Got my new toy in today
And my hub is currently updating

Updated image:
Yellow arrow: 'bridge' zwave screw-in module for post light
Red arrow: intermatic zwave device will be behind the stone wall where my pump breaker lives.
I know the intermatic works (did you watch the wink/intermatic youtube vid I posted?)
i'm almost positive that zwave screw-in will also work. zwave does great 'on/off' integration with WINK.
just always select the 'zwave switch' option when pairing.

i think local control will be the wink's killer feature/saving grace.

Ah yeah, busy day.
so, can this control my pump and my polaris pump seperately? Too lazy to watch or read
Eta: im guessing it can only turn on/off both at the same time. That kind of stinks.
Your order shipped today as well
... And leaksmart pairing just says comimg soon

I guess its one of those things they need to turn on. Not like i was going to install it this week anyways.

local control...what a joke. Who cares if my lights react instantly from my phone. I only use robots
At least I can pair my leaksmart now.

Wtf
When wink.com goes down you'll be glad you can still use it.
Are you saying the robots won't live locally as well? That would suck

Nope. Its really just turning on/off lights from the app. I never have to do that. My trippers/motion/robots handle my lights. Robots are still in the cloud.

You don't have any lights that are tied into smart switches not the wall so you can choose off,on, or on with motion without having to dig into an app on your phone or program it?

Most of my lights are on smart switches. The one place that i can see the use for controlling lights on my phone is in the living room where i will need to replace 8 lights with dimmable smart bulbs since they are currently in very high fans with only one switch to operate the lights and fan. I'm not in a rush to do that.

i have one like that
had to waste 3 GE link bulbs to handle turning them off without turning the ceiling fan off.
i need those link bulbs elsewhere so i'm going to try & separate the fan & lights onto 2 switches but not sure i can pull it off.
its in the room with the 12ft ceiling so a long dangly chain is not an option.

also i'm learning you need to strategize your technologies.
zwave is great because those devices all 'MESH' to pass the signal along from one device to the next but GE bulbs are zigbee..and a special type of zigbee that do their own MESH..but only bridge across to other GE bulbs.
i now realize i put the lutron switch in the wrong place because i cant reach the cree bulb in backyard so i am taking the cree bulb back in favor of 2 GE bulbs that can bridge across.
when the C by GE bluetooth bulbs come in thats going to present yet a whole new set of challenges I bet.
i will write up more on strategizing placement of the various 'smart' wifi radios if you have a large area you want to cover.

That's what I've read. Controlling devices is local but robots still live off of the cloud.

why? is it a storage issue? or is it because the robot "processing" takes place in the cloud and the wink hub lacks the processing power to handle them?
if its the former, surely the wink could support accessing a local NAS or something with additional storage space..also a good idea to back up all your configuation.
if the latter, well, frick.

updated my image above to better show the zwave bridging i would need for the pool pump

mctiger stash & intermatic switch arrived today!
...i think i have a problem starting with the fact that yes, i have 2 wink hubs. i orignally had 6 after christmas last year but gave 4 away as gifts
Eta added one gocontrol sensor. Worked like a charm!

Thought that was a picture from a store
Warning: the siren will sound if you remove the back plate after batteries are in. Stupid tamper switch

Can you elaborate on how you wasted them? You mean you got smart bulbs just to be able to turn the lights on/off without ever turning the fan off?

I need to do exactly that. I was looking into insteon switches and fan controllers, but z-wave sounds like the way to go if such a thing exists for fan control.
