Ah helix version....if u know how to upgrade ,upgrade to isenguard 15.0 if you want...less kinks....altho helix is great...

Iptv Stalker is now a pay service which is bs like channel pear is, altho channel pear has some channels open ...defeats the purpose of cutting the cord...a few nice add ons for the ivue tv guide are sportsdevil, gorilla streams, vdubt 25, channel pear, dexter tv , iptv uk...they all have a few channels that u can configure into the ivue guide that would probably resemble an extended cable line up....in the ivue guide go to configuration and go to the last icon and reset everything...Just make sure you uninstall iptv stalker if you have it so the guide can't refer to it, the guide will refer to your addons that carry that particular channel, then it becomes a situation of which addon has the best clear channel to use...then when u go back into ivue after resetting ,the guide will refresh and pick up the addons you have and u choose which one you want to test for that channel...easiest way is to go into your addons and test them, which ever one certain channel that works, save to favorites and then go back into ivue and choose stream, then pull it from your favorites...you can put together a decent list....fyi,iptv stalker charges 105.00 for a yr of everything, premiums included...thats less than ten bucks a month ,once you pay for example, they give u a personal mac address, type it in and bam you got triple what cox has for less than ten bucks a month...personally, I would do it but i just dont watch that much tv except sports and movies..all this, is testing of course...personally I have never used the channels because I have an antenna for all my locals(sports) and watch espn for my sports...so I'm good....genesis is the other popular addon that is enjoyable...

Two things u never do on kodi to protect yourself, never download or upload...just sayin

Hopefully I can get the answer here.

I cut cable today but I can still get a few channels in HD, including the networks, by just running coax from the wall to the TV because I have cable internet.

My problem is the HD channels are choppy when the Internet and TV are pushing at the same time. The coax is on a 3 way splitter with one capped. Would buying a two way splitter send more power than a 3 way with one capped?

Your channels will be turned off soon....get an antenna to pick up your locals in hd....splitters will slow your internet speed, not sure if it will impair programming...won't matter in a month cause you won't have what you don't pay for esp if it's Cox....years ago you could get by with basic cable staying on when you paid for only Internet but not anymore

Just a success story comment -

It's pretty amazing how much content there is on my television without the $80/month going to DirecTV. Sure, I pay $60/month to Charter for high speed internet, but after getting an Amazon Fire Stick yesterday, I'm pretty much going to have limitless content to watch.

My set up:

Charter Spectrum - $59

Netflix - $8

Amazon Prime (Student) - $50/year ('bout $4/month)

Amazon Fire Stick - $38 (one time charge)

I may try to negotiate with Charter as I have some offers from WOW internet I can use. The promotional period just ended, but something I really like about Charter is the lack of data caps and the fact that the speed is great. Not sure I want to risk losing it.

I also need to figure out the antenna situation, though I've been told that CBS will stream sports live online.

Finally got my antenna up. Getting everything I want in the living room, but I can't pick up Fox in the kitchen. Had an aplifier on the line in the living room, so I ordered another for the kitchen. It came in today, but still can't get Fox for some reason.

Its This one . It's connected to the coax junction box outside that feeds the house.

get a second antenna "outside"...it should work but you should directly connect antenna to the coax cable single and use a single splitter that connects your antenna to the cable that runs to your kitchen tv...if you're running signals together thru multiple connections then the signals that your antenna is picking up is severely being watered down..as you know, that's why you probably need the amplifier..try connecting directly to the cable that runs to your tv in kitchen...make sure also your tv isn't blocking the channel that picks up Fox...check you configuration on your tv

I see we're talking antennae in here. I cut the cord a few weeks ago and I now want to get an indoor HD antenna. I live just outside of Baton Rouge and all I'm really getting this antenna for is to catch NFL and college football games over the air. Will the 50-mile range AmazonBasics antenna do the trick?

Yah, if you use in house, place near a window....otherwise you should get an outdoor antenna and place in your attic

Sideloaded Kodi to firetv and silence rom, paid 70 for the iptv stalker for a year. On live TV save all channels on stalker to favorites and when you get to channel delete stream and add iptv version of channel. Will save with no more errors. Works on Ivue and renegade TV guides.

Well you could have saved yourself doing the inbetween work you mentioned and just go into settings on ivue guide and adjust your tec guide to how u wanna configure ur channels, go into advanced and click "unlink" reset(its the first icon) and the ivue guide will then pick up those channels automatically from iptv stalker....in the settings there is about 5 or 6 different guides u can have ur ivue use....

Care to pass on ur mac address in ur iptv stalker settings? Lol :)...

If I cut everything and just use Sling TV, how do I watch shows that I would normally DVR?

I don't want to go the Kodi route and Hulu doesn't have enough of the content I want. I've seen the aftermarket DVR's in the thread but that doesn't work with anything streamed unless I'm misreading.

Well the big test for cord cutting starts now.

I plan to use sling / watch ESPN for sports during the football season.

Picked up sling last night. Quality isn't great. Not sure why the Watch ESPN picture is SO much better than Sling. It isn't terrible. Just seems to take a little longer to buffer to higher quality whereas WatchESPN seems to start at the best quality.

I've been more than happy with Netflix, Prime and Hulu Plus. Early on, it looks like Sling during college football will work for me.

Some people might not like how slow it is to pop between games. I don't see that bothering me, but it could be enough to keep some people from cutting the cord for good.

Changing back and forth between Wespn and my locals don't bother me either....

As far as netflix and hulu....well many people may opt out to use these services because they charge money...instead many use xbmc free of charge...
