I’m trying to record some old VHS before they finally bite the dust. Just found them in a closet and still seem to be in good shape but they’re 20+ years old at this point. Some are almost 30 years old. Well past their shelf life.

Been trying to use OBS with a USB screen capture device connected via HDMI to analog converter to an old VHS player that still works.

I’ve got everything working except for one issue. OBS stops recording audio randomly and I don’t know until I’m already through the recording which in some cases take multiple hours. Very frustrating. When I look at the logs it clearly shows an audio crash in the software. The audio continues to play through the entire recording as i can hear it so it’s definitely the software.

Just curious if anyone has a fix for OBS or a free alternative for USB screen capture recording.
