New mac battery draining fast

Just replaced the battery in my 2011 mac with no improvement in energy performance. The new battery drains as fast as the original.
Any ideas?

As it's a 2011 it could just be a sign that your components are constantly running hard to keep up. I have the same problem on a 2011 MacBook pro. Fans are constantly spinning and battery goes fast.

Open Activity Monitor and see what is going on. You could have some background process running that is a power hog. Anything that is always pinging a server (dropbox, Adobe products, Flash, misc daemons) can create a big background load. Also, if you don't use bluetooth then turn it off.
