New Laptop for Relative - Software Suggestions?

I am tasked with loading up a new laptop for a relative that is not tech savvy. It's an HP with Windows 10 preloaded and a 1 year subscription to Office 365. This is really the bare-bone necessities outside of an internet browser. I am looking for advice from the board on any suggested anti-virus applications or other software that you would advise preloading prior to handing the laptop off.

Install uBlock origin with chrome and call it a day.

Internet Explorer 11 is installed in Win 10.
If this relative would get confused trying to learn Edge, you can pin IE11 to the taskbar and make it the default browser.
Get rid of Office 365. It is an annual subscription. Buy the regular MS Office for a one-time charge of $150 (less if on sale) and they will not have worry about popups and renewals.

Good suggestions so far...
o Chrome with Ad blocker
o Edge will serve as a pdf viewer but they may be more familiar with Adobe Reader
o Windows Defender should suffice unless they click on every link and surf suspect sites
