We're building a home in the Nashville area and the technology company offers ADC-VC736 bullet cameras for $360 per camera.

Are these good cameras? I'd prefer to buy once, cry once. After reading through the older topics on outdoor cameras, how realistic is it to want a camera that has the capability of capturing a license plate number?

This is in an upscale neighborhood so theft will probably be nonexistent.

I'm not that well educated on security cameras but I'd like one that records in high enough quality to be able to describe events if necessary.

This company records the camera activity in the cloud I'm guessing but I inquired about recording 24/7 to an NVR at my residence.

Looking for guidance and suggestions on the best path to take.

Is the Axis P3268-LVE a quality camera? Tons of choices on bhphotovideo.com

Get reolinks, a POE switch, and a computer with blue iris. The apps suck on pretty much all the whole system NVRs. And with your own NVR, you can add cameras from any manufacturer.

Whatever camera you add make sure it supports ON IF and POE. If you add a doorbell camera, make sure it's powered from the doorbell wires and supports onvif. This way you can add it to your NVR as well.

I have amcrest NVR, amcrest cameras, 24 port Poe switch. Had blue iris but it was too many settings to screw with.

Don't get yourself tied to a single camera manufacturer and NVR.

As others have said, you need to buy a POE switch. You can get cheap ones on eBay with cleared configs for dirt cheap.

Once you have your POE switch, you can now look into your own NVR, which is essentially a computer with a large-ish hard drive. Blue iris and milestone xprotect are two big names

After you have those, you can pretty much plug and play any POE cameras you want
