New Dell Laptop needs help

Hi,guys and gals. I bought my Mom a new Dell laptop last week. It runs Win 10. I had got it going through all of the opening filling out a bunch of information. I got her up and onto the web, saved her many of her favorites, etc. Well-I learn today she cannot get to the OS because it first wants the password for her gmail acct. Trouble is I apparently left one character out of the username so the password doesn't work. This is a mess. I thought I had all set up so she would not have to go through entering anything just to get to home screen. Help!

Just go to "Reset this PC" if you don't have any files saved on there. You can access that from the Windows boot manager. If that doesn't work you can reinstall Windows with a bootable USB.
Another trick is to download Hirem's boot USB and install on bootable USB. It has a preinstalled recovery application that allows you to clear the password.

It sounds like he got his Mom and Chromebook and not a Windows OS device

skipped right over that haha. Just saw the gmail login and assumed it was a Chromebook
But if you can get to the post boot windows troubleshooting screen, you can reset your PC. I think sometimes if you hold shift and power it can get there?

I believe you tap F8 or F2 on a Dell when it powers on. Each brand is different. HP uses ESC key for boot manager.
