Need New Modem and Wifi Router

Please lead me towards a good modem and router that decently priced. I don't have whole home automation or any crazy requirements outside of capability to stream Slingtv and use 1-2 other devices simultaneously. Not a computer gamer or high load user.

All-in-ones aren't recommended around here so you'll mostly get suggestions for separate routers and modems.
I assume you need a cable modem.

I just installed Google WiFi today. Its pretty awesome. I did all three, but I bet you could get away with 1-2 (though this depends on the size of your house, which is details we'll need).
I can't wait to hook it up to my ARRIS SURFboard SB6190.
My old roommate still has it. When I was living in BR, I had Cox and bought that modem paired with an old Apple AirPort. Now I've got Spectrum 100 here in Dallas. My download speed has already gone up to 50+ and I think the modem is going to help out a ton more over their crappy modem.

House is 6bedrooms 4,300 sqft single story. I wasn't thinking an all in one... I only need wifi really in one half of the house.

Well, i'd say to go with this router:
LINK on sale for $99
And I'd probably recommend the google wifi (currently on sale for 269). Granted, i've only had it for a day. But I think for a house that big you're going to need a mesh system. Google Wifi has very set up -- pretty much takes all the thinking out of it.
BUT, people here are also probably a lot more knowledgeable on the subject than I am.

How do you like google wifi?

Haha, you say that now. Really though, it won't cost you very much extra to get an extra access point. If my house was 4300 sq ft, I would absolutely get the Google wifi. Probably be good to get the main hub plus two access points. I think they cover 1200 sq ft each. If you go on Amazon there is a demo vid.
Oh, also I would go with Arris for the modem. The surfboard model is fantastic. The newer ones have 3.1 docsis.

Well, one day in and my speeed tests are blazing compared to what they were
I'm in 1600sq ft spot while I get adjusted to the area, so the 3 wifi points is certainly overkill but during the football season I plan on sticking one deep in the backyard to stream games on a projector
When my modem comes in I expect even faster speeds. I'm on the cable company's until my old roommate moves out of our BR house and ships it to me

That router should be plenty to handle the traffic, but I'd save some change there and get a better wifi solution.

With such a big house, you definitely want a multi-point system. The cheaper wifi extenders never work very well in practice.
