My Samsung tv will not turn on. The red led light is on, but I keep pressing the button to no avail. I’ve left the cord unplugged for a couple of minutes - still doesn’t work. I’ve tried holding down the power button for 10 seconds - still nothing. Help is greatly appreciated

Leave it unplugged for a few hours. Also maybe blow it out for dust. Had something similar with a Sony TV..Except I purchased a new TV and the old one started to work..

Do you get sound and no picture at all? I actually had this happen on mine. Can't remember the specific part that had failed, but it was ~$100 to get it fixed... wouldn't be worth it on an old TV, but this was a decent 4k that would have been more expensive than the repair price to replace with similar quality.

Unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in and see if it comes one. If it doesn't then it could be a bad power supply board.

I am having a problem similar to a post above where the red light goes off and flickers when I press a button on the remote. I am able to get audio but the screen stays black. My thinking is a bad LED driver on the power supply board, so I just purchased one from ShopJimmy and waiting for it to come in.
