I use Outlook and when I delete emails from my phone it automatically downloads the same amount I’ve deleted of old emails. I currently have 6000 emails on my phone.

I have Cox and continuously open Cox email and delete a thousand or so at a time on a desktop but if I delete on my phone they just get coming back.

And no one can seek to tell me what the frick I’m doing wrong.

Any help is appreciated.

Maybe your phone is configured to use the POP3 protocol with the option to leave a copy of messages on the server. You should be using the IMAP protocol.

I believe you are correct. Any idea how to change that or someone that can?

If I go into accounts then cox mail it shows host at pop.east.cox.net

then below it says advanced and it has deleted messages remove after one week.

then incoming settings it has delete from server and it is set on never.

Can I change this to "when removed from Inbox" and that would stop it?

I'm not good at this sorry.

Cox Email Server Settings

That page describes the differences between IMAP and POP. At the bottom of the page are links for setting up Cox business or residential email. Follow the appropriate link and configure your device to use IMAP.

All your devices should be configured to use IMAP or you are going to have sync issues.
