Need help with Airpods.

Got a pair of the knockoff airpods for Xmas. Problem I'm having is that I cannot control the volume on my phone with the volume keys. I have a Galaxy A20 phone. When I try to sync the volume to my phone, the phone will not allow me to do it. I do have some sound but it is too loud. Any help would be appreciated.

Thread title is misleading, sounds like you got a bad set. You should be able to adjust volume once you phone recognizes the audio source as your headphones, if they aren’t adjusting its a cheap dud.

Are you sure you can control the volume with your phone? Did you try this?
Double click on the right earbuds to decrease the volume.
Double click on the left earbuds to increase the volume.
