I periodically search my own name to see what pops up, and over the last few years I've noticed mylife.com in the results and a "score" it gives. I've worked from the assumption that this is just an attempt to lure users in to see worthless "data".....but it begs a question from a non-techie. Is this site something the average person should worry about or make an effort to correct/update?

It's a gimmick of selling already public info about you. You can send them a request to remove your profile and they will have it taken down. There are dozens of sites like this grabbing all public data and trying to package it as a selling product or a way to check up on your neighbors. If anyone of them show up on google on mine and reveal too much info like address or full name of siblings, etc, I have it removed.

It's a scam. They send you emails telling you someone looked at your profile or gave you a rating.

Best thing to do is give it bogus information.

Mine indicates a criminal history even though I don’t have one. *shrug*
