If you think about it, usually when you use braces you are going to indent everything inside anyway for readability. Python just did away with the redundancy and further enhanced readability.

That's why I said I'd probably like it haven written so many block delimiters. It would be funny if Python was designed by someone who was simply sick and tired of all the unendingly dull brace style arguments so many people have found fascinating over the decades. I never understood how those threads could run on so long when Allman style was obviously the best.

I hope that's sarcasm. Coffee script is worthless in its current state, and that's coming from a Rubyist.

He said he liked whitespace denoted language. Coffeescript it is.

IMO, if you're not in ES(JS/CS), you might as well hang up your coding future.

I've been working my way through Learn Python the Hard Way and highly recommend it. I first started with the Khan Academy Intro to Javascript to get a basic understanding of object oriented programming. After i finish LPtHW I'm going to do some of the w3 courses on SQL and get some books on algorithms. The best advice I've gotten so far is buy books on whatever language you want to learn. Don't just do free online courses as they don't really teach you how to use the language.

First of all you should understand that where you end up working might determine what language is required for that position. Not learning a bit about R/Python/Perl/Matlab/SAS etc could hurt you later.

Good thing is that you can tinker with all these languages because most are free.

I'd encourage R and Python.
