i'm hoping to lay all of this out on the floor and do lots of dry runs before the hondurans tape 3 ladders together so they can reach the eaves for the install.

I rented a cherry picker for this and it was worth every penny...

Ok I’m backtracking. All my WLED stuff is inside and PoE. Outside is a whole different animal but your thread was encouraging enough to just go ahead and do it. Using dedicated 12v and lots of 12/2 and 16/3 fire rated wire.

Good luck. With 12v it should be good with 16/3 (depending on how far you have to run it). On my 5v system, I ended up with having to run close to 100' of 14/2 to the far end of my house to get the farthest pixels the same brightness as the ones in the middle 1/3 where I started the power injection. The 18/3 wire I used initially wasn't sufficient to keep the voltage from dropping at that corner of m house.

I ordered 100’ each 12/2, 16/3 and 18/3 full copper CMR/cmp. Plan on putting front and back/pool 4 channel controllers centrally located. My IT area is centrally located in the narrow part of the house, close to both, so lucked out there. It’s also up high in an attic-connected cubby hole.

Come to think of it, 16/2 would have made sense for injection, but I’m going to have independent channels because lots of disconnected areas. Or have to extend the line with 3 wires back into the attic and onto the next section. Maybe just a couple injections.

Edit again. Ordered some 16/2. Damn y’all. I hate optimizing. Rather build.
