iRobot Roomba!

On a whim and because I was persuaded by people on this site, I bought the roomba that was on sale during Amazon Prime Day and my life has been changed! It's the basic no frills version but I have to say thank you to all who said get this product! My house has never been cleaner and dusting has become so much easier!
I was wondering what people thought about the competitor brands that are out there that are cheaper in price. Are they the same quality, clean as well as the roomba and does the battery life stack up? I'm really amazed at how well it does in tight situations like under my kitchen table, the thing never gets stuck. I'm looking to purchase one as a Christmas gift and didn't know if I should stick with roomba or get another brand.

Got a few of the top of the line Roombas, love them.
I will say, in a few of our bigger rooms it does not do a great job. Especially in big open rooms. Will miss some stuff.
Also, the battery only lasts about 45 minutes so we ended up getting another one for the 2nd floor.
They are programmed to start every day so, the house gets vacuumed daily which is nice.
The hepa filtration and the 2 units working for at least 45 mins a day has seemed to help with air quality. House has always been kept clean, but I do believe I can notice a reduction in overall dust.

I've looked at the Neato brand and they have good reviews. Can I ask why you guys think the Neato is better than roomba?
My roomba runs for several hours and does a really good job. I've read the battery life does diminish over time but so far mine does a great job. I do know this, I will always have something, wether it be a roomba or neato, that will be working for me everyday!

reviews i have read is that Neato has better suction and IMO the pattered vacuum procedure is better than the roombas random routes

Because of Neato's pattern cleaning you aren't forced to run everyday and can go every other or third. Roomba's randomness, while not forcing you to necessarily, kind of makes it only practical if run everyday so everything is cleaned.

My Roomba does run a random pattern, but it covers the entire floor each time. I run it everyday because I have several pets and a crawling baby.

If you don't mind having them run while you're not home, either Roomba or Neato would be fine.
I'm partial to the Roomba because the latest generation doesn't have brushes for hair to get stuck on. It makes all the difference in the world in terms of cleaning the Roomba afterwards. Here is a review for one of the more basic models that is high end enough to be "brushless".

Neato D80 is awesome, the xv-21 was good, but the d80 is much better. The first floor of my house is all wood tile and about 2400 sf, the d80 has to recharge once, but picks right up where it left off and cleans every room, even right along the baseboards where other robots miss.
