first let me say I am not very "tech savvy" - so I apologize in advance for that.

Last week I dropped DirecTV and went with REV (EATEL). My cable box is in a cabinet. With DirecTV the remote worked in RF mode and was not a problem. The REV cable box does not have this feature so an IR Repeater is needed to control the cable box

This weekend I have been through THREE of these - all of similair style

With all three I found where they only worked if I was using the remote directly in front of the sensor. My main spot to sit in the living room is at about a 45 degree angle from the IR Extender sensor and none of them will work from that angle.

Any tips on one I could get that works from a wider angle than being directly in front of the sensor?

Any help is appreciated...

Thx.. I did see these on amazon, or at least ones that look very similar. It looked like a complicated system to a non-tech guy like me lol

I'm non tech. It's a pretty self explanatory set up.

I’ve always had good results with this BAFX distributor box

It’s slightly more than you need- it’s designed to send the signal to up to 6 different things, and I was crazy enough to go taping flashers onto each device and plugging 1/8” cables between here and any device that had an IR in jack.

I think the oldest one I have is around 5y old and works great still. I have 2 in my house, 2 or 3 in my father in law’s house. Never had a dud.

If necessary and possible, they have an IR over Ethernet adapter for long runs- I have used several of these as well with very good results (longest run I have is probably about 50ft of cable)
