Damn. I didn't realize there was a significant risk to damaging it by putting them under water.

I have taken my iPhone 12 into the pool and into the ocean to film my kids and haven't had any issues.

It's crazy how different people's phones are when they drop them in water.

I washed mine on accident and it still works.

In the same load I washed my AirPod pros too. They worked for about a month before the case finally wouldn't accept a charge. Got the case replaced for free with a little creative explanation to apple.

They have open enrollments right now. Call add the insurance. Don't tell them it was damaged prior. Complete a claim then cancel the insurance.
