iphone volume button no longer works

So I updated my iOS the other day and now I can no longer raise and lower my volume with the buttons on the side of my phone. And yes, I went into the "sound and haptics" in settings and turned on "change with buttons." Still cannot raise and lower my ringer/notification volume.

I was going to make a joke about the apple update breaking it, but its not really funny when it is the actual cause.

Did you try rebooting it? It seems after every update something goes wacky with my phone and I reboot and everything is back to normal.

Same thing happened to my 6s a few weeks ago while running a version of iOS 10. Reboot worked. I assumed the glitch was because I hadn’t updated to 11.

Junky FTW...
After every update, I do a hard reset (Power & Vol Down or Power & Home).
Fixes 50% of peoples problems when they come into our repair shop.
