anyone have a suggestion for monitoring my daughter's iphone - she's at that age (13) now (YIKES) where the most popular form of communication to mom and dad is a monosolabic grunt and there have been other issues with deleting text messages etc... we have things locked down pretty well with screen time.. but am looking for a monitoring software.. have already been through MMGuardian (it's ok but I don't feel it captures deleted text messages) and MSpy (for IPhone it doesn't have nearly the features as it does for the Android)... it seems like Apple intentionally makes it very difficult to have an effective parental monitoring device for texts and web activity etc... Just wondering if there are any better solutions out there...

Apple's parental controls definitely leave plenty of opportunity for improvement.....one of our biggest concerns was sending and receiving picture messages. We blocked that by having it turned off per line with the carrier and then disabling imessage.

IDK about messaging but internet browsing covenant eyes is a good method. As I understand it while it is centered around blocking porn there are many other things it can do. One basic thing it can do is monitor alone, you don’t have to use the filtering feature.

The downside is on apple it can’t monitor all activity only the activity done inside the covenant eyes app. But as far as I know it’s one of the best monitoring apps out there.

Covenant eyes has a browser you can install on your iPhone, than set up restrictions on your kids phone to prevent browsing on Safari and installing/deleting apps.

Pretty much, apple doesn't make it easy to monitor your children's activity on their phones. I believe it centers around their focus on privacy, if you can monitor your kid's activity what stops someone you don't want monitoring your activity from doing so?
