Legit question. My 6s has begun telling me there is no SIM card installed. I’ve powered off/on and that fixes it for a couple of days or weeks but it recurs. I tried to pop the tray to reseat the card but the paper clip hack didn’t open the tray. So now I’m probably off to see the wizard at the store for help.

Meanwhile, just wondering what words of experience or wisdom there may be among the more tech minded denizens of this realm. Any helpful advice will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Something similar happened to my wife's 7. She's now on her 3rd refurbished replacement.

This same thing happened to my phone, went to apple store and they told me i ruined the phone and have to pay for it. The phone was bent pretty bad tho appently it occurs when there isn’t a clean connection from the sensor that senses the SIM card and he card itself.

Bent? I have always kept mine inside a pretty sturdy Pelican case. I don’t drop it or throw it around, but it does spend time in my pocket every day. Maybe it takes more of a beating there than I realize. But still, muh Pelican case... Lol.

Taking it out of the case and eyeballing it, I just don’t see any bends or curves. I realize I don’t have Apple techie eyes, tho. I hope this does not prove to be the problem.
