If your Pixel is on backorder with Verizon, you might get a free Daydream

I got a call yesterday from an out of town number that I didn't recognize. When I googled the number I came across this post on reddit stating people were getting calls offering a free Daydream View. I called the number back and got the same offer. If you get a call from 844-340-4325, then answer it.

I didn't get a call from that number, but I did get my free Daydream VR yesterday 
I was pleasantly surprised when I got home from work. I saw that I had a package at my front door, but I knew I hadn't ordered anything too recently. Also, I couldn't tell who where it was from because I didn't recognize the sender (it wasn't listed as Verizon). I open the package and see the Daydream VR. I was so confused, but then I remembered seeing this thread last week
Has anyone else gotten theirs? Also, I ordered mine on Black Friday. It was supposed to ship on 1/6, but it didn't ship until after 1/13.

I ordered my Pixel on black Friday, but cancelled and re-ordered a couple of weeks later when the price went down another $5 per month ($120). My original ship date on the new order was 1/20. Now it's estimated to be 2/17. I also got them to waive my activation fee and an additional $10 statement credit.
