Need a little help if this has ever happened to anyone.

I’ve had Phillips Hue lights for years and never had an issue between Alexa and the Hue bulbs. Well, one wouldn’t communicate so after trouble shooting all the normal things, I deleted them all from the Alexa app and started over.

Philips Hue bridge is talking to them perfectly but my Echo will not even discover them. It spins and spins. Also will not give me the option to log out and back in.

Help!

I'm interested to see the outcome. I switched to Wyze lights a few years ago, but even before I never needed Alexa to do anything, since I set the schedules in the Hue or Wyze apps. But what borks one smart home device will eventually bork the all. It doesn't look like Hue has updated the API in a material way in 3-4 years though.

Can you delete the hue skill on Alexa and try again?

After spending an hour on the phone w an Alexa rep, I was finally able to break the connection between Phillips and Alexa and re login and discover all of my lights again. Finally fixed!

alexa is pretty shitty about this kind of stuff. i still see devices in there i removed 7 years ago despite having gone into alexa and deleted them multiple times.

you'd think a co as large as amazon could handle something as simple as keeping track of smart devices.

i think it still had my old address delivering weather reports until maybe 3 months ago. drove me NUTS giving me national weather warnings for someplace i no longer live.
