How to use tv as wireless monitor

Additional question
Have a dell pc/windows 10. 2 24” monitors via docking station. Want to put a tv across the office to use as an additional monitor to cast the closed circuit security cameras on (via website or desktop app, either works)
Best way to do this wirelessly without a $100+ HDMI transmitter? Is there a way to “cast” without having to have the window open on one of my regular monitors as well?
Is it as simple as buying a $100 ONN Rokutv and clicking “connect to wireless display”? Biggest thing is I want the tv to be it’s own monitor, not taking up screen space on one of my desktop monitors as well

I think you’ll need a paid app if using non-OSX source:
This should walk you through it*
*i’ve never done this, but I have an old iPad that I use as a wireless second monitor on a stand at my workstation.

We use the Duet app. Company gives us the wired version for free but you can upgrade to a wireless version for another $10 or so. The wired version works great for me. Its just usb-c to usb-c, launch the app on both, fires right up. It was a little laggy when I first got it a few years ago but zero lag now.
I use a PC btw. If you have a mac I think there is built in OS software to make ipad second screen.

Duet got rid of their single time pay for the app tier. You have to be subscription now to use wired, it's dumb.
