How to locate old iPhone backups?

Made a mistake back around June. I thought deleting all the pictures/videos on my phone they would be saved in iCloud. I wanted to free up room and had years of pictures. I backed up phone prior to deleting. I go on iCloud and iTunes and I cannot find any backups other than very recent. My phone only shows most recent backup. If I backed up my phone that long ago is it still gone because it’s been so long?
On my pc at one time there were thousands of pics as it family computer and I saved them to a cloud and deleted all the pictures yet I still have access to them on that cloud. Apparently iCloud doesn’t do that

Locating iPhone backups on computer
Find and Manage backups stored in iCloud
Usually when i went to restore from a backup there was an option to choose an older one if available (have not done that recently so don’t know exact wording), but If you had iCloud Photo turned on at time of back up the backup doesn’t back Photo app as they are already on iCloud.
“ When you use Messages in iCloud or turn on iCloud Photos, your content is automatically stored in iCloud. That means that they're not included in your iCloud Backup.”
If you choose optimize iPhone Storage with iCloud Photo you may just be storing 10% to 20% of your total photo data on phone (downloads small versions & only originals full size when needed), but yes deleting them on phone deletes everywhere (in delete folder for 30 days unless you delete them there as well). It warns about this when deleting. I also keep full versions on computer which gets backed up to external drive every so often.
Not sure how long a back up will exist on iCloud, but it might be possible possible one still exists before turning on iCloud Photo (or from older device or maybe prior iOS).
You might just be able to get back ones you shared with others, imported into different apps or files, or used in different apps that may still be in cache.

It is frustrating to try and back up iPhones outside the iCloud.
