How do I extract music out of my iPhone?

All my old music (couple thousand songs) that I transferrred from all my old CDs years ago are inside my iPhone 5s. It's not registering in iTunes since it wasn't purchased in iTunes.
I need to extract the music from my phone onto my computer using some type of software program. I did this once years back (from an iPhone 3 or 4, and that's how I got it onto my iPhone 5s).
But now I can't find a good software program that works. Any suggestions?

I've always had android, but I just use the USB charging cable connected to my laptop, then goto the folder on the phone where the music is, then copy and paste everything. Not sure if it's that easy on iPhone though.

Copy trans. Will do everything you're asking for and then some. You can even manage apple products independent of itunes. But it's best feature is pulling music off apple devices.

One of the myriad of reasons Android is better than iOS. You plug an Android phone into a PC and the computer looks at it just like it is any other external hard drive. NO BS like iTunes to have to deal with.

I thought I read where apple is finally making where you can look at it like a hard drive with the next update.

There used to be a program called Senuti (itunes backwards) around a few years back that worked really well for me. Not sure if it's still around.

Reason #65 why I hate iPhones. There is no way to do this through Apple software. Technically, what you're trying to do can't be done according to Apple.
Like others have said, you're going to have to use 3rd party software to do something that should be do damn simple.
