Hdmi issues with cable/computer

I have always been able to connect an hdmi cord from my computer to my tv, and once i set my tv input to the correct hdmi port i usually can watch what's on my puter on the TV. It screen mirrors.

I'm at another house doing the same thing and I'm having issues.

The homescreen of the Puter displays fine on the tv, so I know it's working.. but anytime I go to a website on the computer the tv won't display it..

The tv keeps the homescreen displayed for some reason..

Any idea what's up?

The homescreen just stays on the tv...its maddening..
