I used to have a full-featured application that i loved for years called picasa made by this company..i can't seem to remember their name...but moved everything years ago to google photos and ditched picasa because keeping things in sync was way too confusing.

so here we are in the middle of 2018 and i'm still trying to find a way to seamlessly fix the red eye on my google photos images without resorting to downloading the image into some desktop app, making changes then reuploading it, fixing the date timestamp..and then finding the original image and deleting it.

ugh.

is there not a chrome plugin or something that can do this?

why in the hell would google essentially kill one app and then never EVER migrate even the basic photo-retouching capabilities to their cadillac photo platform?

they've only had 10 years to make this happen.

at least give us this ability on the phone or computer..somewhere..without making us download another app and awkwardly having to reinsert the image.

Do I need to add this to the CAD Hate List?

ETA: Speaking of yelling at clouds, guess what the avatar is for that Twitter account...

So for me the following works most of the time.
-upload your photos with your phone using the google photos app
-click the image in question
-at the bottom click the 2nd image (looks like a 3 layered slider)
-play with any of those filters but usually auto gives a good exposure and self corrects some red eye

Let me know if that helps at all. It’s not 100% but I’ve found it’s a quick 3 clicks or so to fix most issues.

I don't know if I've taken a picture with red eye in years. I'm going to see if I have.

I'd ask this on the Fark Board. Seriously.

Probably use snapseed. There's a "edit in" option on the top right where you can jump with that photo into snapseed.

Snapseed also works to downsize you photo files for easier sharing.
