Previously I had posted about wanting to get my son a desktop for his 16th birthday. Budget was $2500. In doing research I feel like I might be doing some overkill.

I'm wanting to get him setup with a 2k setup.

It looks like building is just a mess right now because graphics cards are just crazy expensive and hard to come by right now.

So what I've come up with is a prebuilt system. Tell me if this is too much/overkill. I don't wanna be spending money I just don't have to.

Ryzen 7 3700x
GE Force RTX 3070
16 GB Ram 3200 megahertz (2 8GB DDR 4)
480GB SSD
2TB HD

Dell S2721DGF 27"
IPS QHD with freesync and G-Sync

He plays Apex/Fortnite/Black Ops/Battlefront 2

I mean, I flat out told you on the thread that it was staggeringly overkill

A 3700x and a 3070 are plenty for what he'll ask of it, but not absurdly so.

This is a CLX unit. Any advice on that brand?

None. I'm not particularly familiar with them, unfortunately.

If going prebuilt, I’d buy this one:

And use the $100 gift card it comes with towards the 2k monitor.
