Firewalla firewalls

As part of my entry to security cams and other smart home devices current & future, I'm really ready to bite the bullet on serious network security. Happened across a review last night of the FIrewalla Purple. Seems like this is a great product for home users who aren't professional (or amateur) network admins. I have enough networking knowledge to set up routers but never wanted to do the deep dive required for most higher level tools, and this caters to that. The Purple model can handle 1 Gbps rate of data, which is where I currently am, but the Gold model pushes it up to 3 Gbps at another $160.
The Purple is getting rave reviews similar to the other Firewalla devices.
Anyone have experience with these? Feel like I'm at an LSU intrasquad game, debating between Purple & Gold. Can't really lose either way. The Gold would be more futureproof, with 2+ Gbps connections already available to me. (I don't have ANY desire much less need for more than my current 1 Gbps but we all know how tech loves to take up available bandwidth, etc.)

I read some of the reviews - It's pretty pricey.
I use eBlocker which is an open source platform installed on a Raspberry Pi. It works really well....and it's FREE (although I did donate to them)
eBlocker site
You might want to check this out as well - probably some different features on the Firewalla, but I'm very happy with eBlocker at this point.
