The TV is a 55in 4k we got on Prime day in 2017, an Element brand, it is an Amazon TV.

I have a 10 year old set of Dell computer speakers with a bass box that I've used with multiple computers and TV's over the years with no issue. They are quite nice actually. Great sound.

Whenever the Amazon TV goes into sleep mode, there is intermittent popping, about every 5-7 minutes, very loud, as if the 1/8 inch input plug is being physically rejacked.

For guitar players, it is like the sound of plugging in your guitar after the amp is already powered up and volume turned up. Clicky-CLACK.

What's going on here, and is there any way to end this?

ETA- the only way I've found to end it is to physically turn the TV OFF, not just sleep. Unfortunately, the only way to do this is unplug it from the wall and plug it back in. It will stay in off-mode until you use the remote to turn it back on. When you use the off button on the remote, it is actually just a sleep button.
