Ear pod mistaken gift request. I asked for Master & Dynamics mw07.

I’m a music lover. I especially like to listen to music with headphones.
I mainly wanted ear pods as just another way to listen to music and as an alternative to more bulky headphones.
I asked for and received MD mw07 ear pods for Christmas. The only ear pods I had listed to were Apple which were satisfactory but I was hoping for something a little better. I did research looking for ear pods for music listening. I don’t remember what all I read that made me choose Master & Dynamics.
The problem - I can’t turn these up loud enough for my liking. If fact, I can’t turn them up loud enough to even enjoy music. Yes, the volume on my phone is all the way up. I do have a hearing loss so I have to turn the volume up on most devices but that was no problem with the Apple ear pods I tried. So, now I have a pair of “used twice for 5 minutes” $249 ear pods I’ll never use.
Are ear pods generally built to have less volume?
I’m not the type who sells things on eBay, though I’d gladly sell these because I won’t use them.
Mainly, should I expect ear pods to have the same music quality as my Bose, Beats or JBL headphones? Maybe I’m expecting too much.

Sorry to hear about that. Wireless earbuds are pretty self contained in a lot of ways so it can be hard to change them. Some brands do have an app that goes on a phone and lets you customize how it's setup if you're using the phone as a source. If you're using them with another device as just a Bluetooth device that may not even be an option. I don't know if M&D offer this.
With wired earbuds or headphones you can add something between the phone and buds/phones. You can have an external DAC or amp that helps improve sound or boost volume. That isn't possible with wireless as far as I know.
If they were a Christmas gift they might still be returnable. I know Amazon has very extended return options around the holidays, though perhaps these were bought elsewhere.

I have M&D headphones. No, they don't crank up to 11 but they do sound fantastic and the noise cancelling is excellent.
I have to ask. With hearing loss already is it really prudent to want to put something in your ears that you can turn up to a very high volume level?
